Ms. Thompson Recognized as FCPS 2020 Region 4 Outstanding Principal!
Congratulations to Principal Angela Thompson who was recognized as the FCPS 2020 Region 4 Outstanding Principal and one of five finalists for the 2020 Outstanding Principal Award!
Angela is a conscientious and committed leader who strives to put students first. She enters every decision with a student first mindset and believes that every child must be seen and heard every day. Angela is immensely committed to ensuring students receive highly engaging, quality instruction. Angela encourages staff to have a growth mindset and to celebrate every student success. She places a high value on professional learning and promotes shared leadership in the school. Not only did she lead Newington Forest Elementary through a full building renovation, she has built a culture of collaboration among teachers and staff. Under Angela’s leadership, Newington Forest hosts several family events to engage families in learning together.
